Kit is a writer for stage and screen and a recipient of the Kleban Prize, Helen Merrill Playwriting Award, The Vivace Award, ASCAP Harold Adamson Lyric Award, and Jonathan Larson Grant.
Kit’s plays have been produced by Lincoln Center, the American Repertory Theater, East West Players, Weston Playhouse, Keen Company, and New York Repertory Theater. His work has also been commissioned or developed by MCC, Playwrights Horizons, NAMT, The Playwright’s Center, Musical Theater Factory, and the Kennedy Center (in the before times) among many others.
Along with his writing partner Melissa Li, they have sold a feature film to Disney Channel, and have developed work projects with Dreamworks, Archer Gray, and actor Poppy Liu. Kit is an incoming 2026 Rideback Rise fellow, a member of the WGA, and alumni of the 2025 Blacklist x WIF episodic lab.
He is an alumni of the Sundance IDP Fellowship, MacDowell , The Dramatists Guild Foundation Fellowship, Playwright’s Center Fellowship, The Hermitage Artist Retreat, and Lincoln Center’s artist in Residence program.
Kit’s short films written with Jess X Snow, are now available on Criterion and have screened at The London Film Festival, Outfest, BlackStar, Ann Arbor, LA Asian Pacific Film Festival, Toronto Reel Asian (National Film Board of Canada Best Short Award), and Philly Asian Film Festival (Best Experimental Short Award), and has been supported with grants from the Smithsonian, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and the Sundance Institute.
Kit is based in NYC/LA/HI and represented by WME and Writ Large.
